In today’s digital world, observability has become an essential aspect of modern cloud architecture and operations. It enables the ability to monitor and understand the behavior of complex systems in order to identify and troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and ensure availability.

AI-powered observability is a type of observability that leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to automatically analyze and interpret large volumes of data generated by cloud systems. This can provide insights and actionable recommendations that would be difficult or impossible for humans to discern manually.

There are several steps that go into planning, building and operating a public cloud especially when you are looking to improve its quality of performance with intelligent observability.

Look beyond monitoring

While monitoring cloud modernization, it is highly necessary to check a few aspects that ensure proper alignment of infrastructure, processes and systems. Having a clear and well-defined strategy for moving to the cloud and maximizing its benefits is crucial. The cloud strategy should include a roadmap for migrating workloads and applications to the cloud, as well as a plan for optimizing and managing them in the cloud.

Monitoring governance should include appropriate control, monitoring, and reporting to ensure that the cloud environment meets your organization’s needs and standards.

Build strategies and approaches to achieve observability at scale

A few intelligent approaches can help you enable better observability that can enable efficient monitoring, understanding, and troubleshooting complex systems and applications as they grow and evolve over time.

Use centralized logging to ensure thorough collection, storage, and analysis of log data from all your systems and applications in a single location. It will help you determine the patterns and behaviors of troubleshoot issues whenever they arise. You need to also monitor your systems and applications to detect issues or anomalies in real-time and set up alerts to notify you when something goes wrong. This allows you to quickly identify and resolve problems before they impact your users.

Eliminate outdated architectures and enable modern work solutions

Outdated architecture can pose significant challenges and obstacles to becoming successful across a range of enterprise roles. Some of the key impacts of outdated architectures include

Limited scalability: Outdated architectures may not be designed to scale easily, making it difficult to accommodate increasing demand or handle large volumes of data.
Poor performance: Legacy solutions may not be optimized for modern workloads, leading to poor performance and slow response times.
Difficulty integrating with new technologies: Outdated solutions may not be designed to easily integrate with newer technologies and systems, making it difficult to take advantage of new innovations and capabilities.
Increased complexity: Monolithic architectures may be more complex and harder to manage than newer, more streamlined designs, leading to increased overhead and maintenance costs.
Security risks: Siloed architectures may not incorporate the latest security features and practices, making them more vulnerable to threats and attacks.

Invest in a well-architected cloud

A well-architected cloud is designed to provide a strong foundation for building and operating reliable, secure, high-performing, and cost-effective systems and applications in the cloud. Invest your focus on security, operational excellence, reliability and consistency, and cost optimization. By building your cloud environment on these pillars, you can create a strong foundation for your applications and systems, and better meet the needs of your users and customers.
